Cup of Excellence coffees are acknowledged by experts to be among the very finest in the world, reflecting a unique combination of soil character, altitude, individual micro- climate and flavour. Each coffee has its own singular taste, distinguishing underlying flavours and each comes from and individual coffee farm – there are no blends of coffees in the Cup of Excellence.
Drawn directly by Bewley’s from Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador and Nicaragua, Cup of Excellence coffee is available in extremely limited quantities and found only through a rigorously scrutinized international competition.
Bewley’s Brazilian Cup Of Excellence has a sweet, juicy flavour with hints of lemon. The Nicaraguan has burgundy undertones with notes of chocolate, a long sweet finish and a creamy texture. Chocolate flavours also feature in the Columbian Cup of Excellence with notes of jasmine, grape and crisp caramel, a smooth body, brilliant acidity and smooth finish. The El Salvadorian has bittersweet chocolate and nut flavours with hints of caramel and a floral note.
What, if anything, could be better than this, the ultimate in coffee? Well, Bewley’s say that there is one thing. Knowing that the Cup of Excellence makes a real difference for coffee producers even further enhances its already delightful qualities.
Cup of Excellence Coffees are being roasted daily at Bewley’s Grafton Street and are being made available by Bewley’s through a select number of top restaurants and hotels throughout Ireland.
