‘Good’ business is always good business
Bewley’s was built on the Quaker values of community, equality, honesty, fairness and integrity of character.
In the difficult times of the 1940s we’d feed hundreds of hungry kids after closing time.
Today the issues facing us have changed but ourbelief in ‘good’ business hasn’t.
It’s why we work with ethical trading organisations such as the Rainforest Alliance, Utz Alliance and Fairtrade.
We believe in living by our ethical trading policy.
So, for example, we pay a premium for coffee at LaVirgen Estate coffee farm in Nicaragua because it helps provide accommodation, clinics and a schoolon the farm. And we get excellent coffee.
We believe that to meet consumers’ modern demands we must be both good and good.
